Start at Tauranga Port

We explore downtown Mount Maunganui, a popular Kiwi holiday destination and the stunning white sandy surf beach, voted best in New Zealand. We stop for awesome photoshoots. As we make our way to Rotorua we drive through the lush farmland, see grazing dairy cows, kiwifruit orchards, native bush, pine plantations, the scenic lakes district before arriving at Wai-o-Tapu

Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal Wonderland

25 minutes drive south of Rotorua is New Zealand’s most colorful and diverse geothermal attraction. This is a self-guided tour following demarcated tracks through a stunning variety of volcanic phenomena. You’ll see fantastic naturally colored hot and cold pools, the world famous Champagne Pool, massive craters & New Zealand’s largest boiling mud pool. Wai-O-Tapu was formed out of massive volcanic activity over thousands of years as New Zealand was created.

Te Puia

We are welcomed onto the Marae by Maori warriors followed by a traditional cultural performance including the famous war dance the fearsome haka. We explore the famous geothermal park. See Pohutu geyser, steam vents, boiling mud pools and hot springs. View New Zealand’s iconic nocturnal kiwi bird, wood carving, flax weaving. Learn the history of the local Arawa tribe who have lived in Rotorua for centuries gone by.

Rotorua's Lakefront

We explore Rotorua’s lakefront, best highlights, govt gardens and historical architectural gem the Elizabethan Spa Bath House, before returning to Tauranga Port via the old scenic Rotorua to Tauranga state highway and your waiting ship.
