Trip Itinerary
After leaving Tauranga Port we explore downtown Mount Maunganui, New Zealand’s most popular holiday destination & voted best surf beach. We take a short walk to Moturiki Island for panoramic ocean and island views.
we visit Kuirau geothermal park. See & experience hot bubbling mud, boiling water pools, steam vents. After lunch we take a walk onto Ohinemutu Marae which is central to the local Arawa Maori tribe who have lived around the lake for hundreds of years. We explore Rotorua’s lakefront, highlights, govt gardens and historical architectural gem the Elizabethan Spa Bath House. On the return journey to Tauranga Port we travel via the old scenic Rotorua to Tauranga highway to your waiting ship on time on board well before the sailing hour.
