Trip Itinerary
Leaving Tauranga Port we cross over the Kaimai ranges and into the mighty Waikato region, as we head inland to our destination, passing through lush dairy farmland and racehorse studs … New Zealand hinterland at its best.
On arrival at Hobbiton, we are met by our guide at the Shire’s Rest cafe and board the Hobbit Bus for the short drive through the 1,250-acre sheep farm to the movie set for an escorted tour of the12 acre site.
Your professional guide explains the history of the site as you wander along the rambling paths of The Shire.
At the world-famous Green Dragon Inn you can sample free specially brewed beverages before we safely return you to Tauranga Port and your waiting ship.
